Mike Dunlap is the new Head Coach of the Charlotte Bobcats.

Mike Dunlap might not be a sexy name with all the NBA head coaches that were available for the job, Jerry Sloan, Nate Mcmillan & Brian Shaw to name a few, but it's wrong to think he will do an awful job without giving him an opportunity, like most fans are doing already.  Dunlap's last job was an assistant coach at St John's and Nuggets coach George Karl described Dunlap as the most intelligent person he has talked to about the game of basketball & also extremely competitive.  Dunlap spent 4 seasons with George Karl in Denver

Dunlap has spent a lot of time coaching younger players in the NCAA and the Charlotte Bobcats have many young players on their roster, Bismack Biyombo, Gerald Henderson, Kemba Walker and the #2 overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft.  I can see why the hire makes sense, only time will tell how he will do, for now, let's just give him a chance.
