The Lakers acquire Steve Nash

The New York Knicks were in the lead to acquire the former Suns guard, but a late push by Laker, Kobe Bryant, and a chance to stay close to his family and children in Phoenix was just enough to change Nash's mind.  The two time most valuable player agreed to a sign and trade to the Los Angeles Lakers, Suns will receive $3 millions, multiple picks, 2013-2015 1st rounders & 2013-2014 2nd rounders.  the Lakers were able to absorb Nash via the trade exception they got from the Lamar Odom to Dallas trade.  Nash will get a three year, 27 million contract.

Suns owner, Robert Sarver, was willing to send Nash to the rival, Lakers, because he wanted to send Steve to a place he could chase the title he fully desires and wanted him to get his wish of being close to his three children that live in Arizona.  Sarver also did this to reward Nash for being a loyal after all of his time with Phoenix.

The Lakers now won't bring back Ramon Sessions, which opted out, but was more than willing to return to the team.  Now the Lakers have an all star point guard to play alongside Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum.
