Golden State Warriors trade Dorell Wright to Philadelphia.
Forward Dorell Wright was acquired by the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for the rights to 28 year old Edin Bavcic. Bavcic is currently playing overseas and most likely won't come to the NBA anytime soon. The Warriors are fine with that, the move rids Golden State of a small forward they didn't need, they also got a $4.1 million trade exception out of it and now can use the mid level and bi annual exceptions without having to go into the luxury tax. Wright averaged 10.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last year for the Warriors in 27 minutes.
The Warriors now have more time to play rookie Harrison Barnes, Richard Jefferson and Brandon Rush (Warrriors want him back) at the small forward position. Warriors coach Marc Jackson wasn't a fan of Wright.
With Wright, the Philadelphia 76ers get another shooter and a change of scenary might be good for Dorell, who averaged 16 points per game the year before Mark Jackson came to Golden State.
