Marcus Camby returns to New York.

In a sign and trade, the Houston Rockets will acquire Toney Douglas, Josh Harrelson, Jerome Jordan, two 2nd round picks in 2013 and 2015, the Knicks will get center Marcus Camby.  Camby, in his second stint with the franchise, will sign a three year contract worth 13.2 million.  Camby played for the Knicks from 1998 to 2002, the last time New York won a playoff series was in the year 2000, Camby was still on the team.

Camby will be backing up Tyson Chandler, giving the Knicks a defensive duo and more experience at that position than what second year player Josh Harrelson could provide.  New York has done a good job in getting veterans like Camby and Jason Kidd. The Knicks are committed in changing  the culture of the franchise and surround their superstars with smart players.

The Rockets got Jerome Jordan and Josh Harrelson's expiring contracts and Toney Douglas has a qualifying offer in the 2013-2014 season.

Kidd Is Heading to New York.

Jason Kidd was close to signing with the Dallas Mavericks for 3 years, 9 million deal. But in a strange turn of events, Kidd will now play with the New York Knicks.  The Knicks are going to use the Mini Mid Level in order to sign the veteran guard.  New York is hoping to bring Kidd as a mentor to Jeremy Lin and another guard who can pass and organize an offense.

Signing Kidd to a three year deal at this point it's not a good signing,  i get that he has a very high iq and can help Lin, but at this point Kidd is only a spot up shooter and not the dynamic guard he once was.  At the end of his three year deal, Kidd will end up being 42 years old. Knicks fans aren't too pissed about this, at least he's better than Toney Douglas, right?

Raptors agreed to sign Landry Fields.

Landry Fields and the Toronto Raptors have agreed to an offer sheet.  Three years, 19 million contract. The New York Knicks will have three days to match (From July 11 to the 14th)  There's no doubt Toronto likes Landry as a player. But this move also had another purpose, the Knicks and Suns were talking about the possibility of doing a sign and trade for Suns guard, Steve Nash.  Landry Fields was a player the Suns definitely wanted back, now that won't happen since he's likely headed to the Raptors.  It's very doubtful the Knicks will match the offer, they think highly of Fields, but not to that extent.  Too bad there's a big chance we won't see more of Lin/Fields handshakes.
